Before joining Guomics, Lu Ang was a Post-doc at Shanghai Institute of Biochemistry and Cell Biology (2017 to 2020) and Cancer Science Institute, Singapore (2016 to 2017). He received his Ph. D in Cancer Biology from National University of Singapore in May 2016 and a Bachelor’s Degree in Veterinary Medicine from Zhejiang University in 2011. As an Alumnus of Westlake Primary School, Lu Ang feels like at home at Westlake University.
Lu Ang’s past research journey mainly focus on the biochemistry and biological functions of chemical modifications of nucleic acids. He provided the first evidence of the existence of m3C modification in RNAs other than tRNAs and identified its catalyzing enzyme. Lu Ang was co-supervised by Prof Peter Dedon (MIT and NUS) for training in mass spec from 2014 to 2017. He is now continuing the studies of chemical modifications of biomolecules and their biological/clinical implications, with the help from colleagues with diverse background. He is aware that it is usually a luxury to do research and he is open to scientific communications and collaborations.
