Visiting student
Mohammad Faisal Iqbal is persuing his undergraduate studies at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras), majoring in Biological Engineering (Dept. of Biotechnology). He is currently pursuing research at Westlake University, contributing to the WAY project, a pioneering initiative aimed at developing a comprehensive Artificial Intelligence Virtual Cell (AIVC) for Saccharomyces cerevisiae.
Fascinated by life at the molecular scale and driven by the power of AI, Faisal thrives in dry lab environments where code meets biology. His research interests lie at the intersection of deep learning, and biotechnology and he envisions a future where computational models not only decode living systems but help re-engineer them.
“The woods are lovely, dark and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep.” – Robert Frost
These words echo his relentless drive, a reminder that his journey in science is only just beginning.
