Yingying obtained her PhD degree from Nanjing University, College of Life Science, and majored in Biology (2018-2021). During her doctoral study, she mainly focused on the mechanism of genomic hypermutation during sexual reproduction of Neurospora crassa using whole genome sequencing coupled with biochemical investigation. In July 2021, Yingying joined the Guomics team as a postdoctoral researcher for proteomic big data research. She and her colleagues developed a highly sensitive and accurate metaproteomic analysis workflow using 4D proteomics technology. This workflow was applied to study the functional expression profiles of gut microbiota in a large cohort, investigating the roles of specific gut microbial functions in metabolic diseases. In August 2023, She Joined Westlake Laboratory as assistant researcher. She and her colleagues conduct functional studies of gut microbiota, including bacteria and fungi using metaproteomics data. Additionally, they are developing a pre-trained model that leverages large language models and extensive metaproteomics data for deep metaproteome identification. She has also participated in metaproteomic research on tongue coating for gastric cancer screening.
