Tobias studied medicine in Mainz (Germany), Oxford (UK) and Boston (US) (2005 – 2010) and completed a residency in neurology at the University Hospital Zurich in Switzerland (2011 -2018). In addition to his medical training, he completed a PhD in the Microbiology and Immunology program of the ETH Zurich and the University of Zurich supported by a MD-PhD scholarship of the Swiss National Science Foundation. (2015 – 2019). Since 2019 he is a senior physician in the Department of Neurology at the University Hospital Zurich and a senior researcher and supervisor in the Laboratory of Molecular Neurooncology at the University Hospital and University of Zurich. He is the principal investigator of three clinical trials with a novel immunotherapy for patients with brain tumors and member of the steering community of the brain tumor group of the European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC). Since December 2020, he is a visiting scientist in the Guomics team.
