Jun obtained his PhD degree from Nankai University, School of Life Sciences, and majored in Genetics (2017-2021). During his doctoral study, he mainly focused on the molecular signatures predictive of recurrence-free survival (RFS) and castration resistance in prostate cancer (PCa), he applied a machine learning algorithm to develop a predictive diagnostic and a prognostic model using castration-resistant PCa (CRPC)-associated genes. In addition, he investigated the role of MCM4, a minichromosome maintenance protein, in the development of CRPC. In September 2021, Jun joined the Guomics team as a postdoctoral researcher for proteomic big data research.
